Study in Barcelona - Spanish Courses in Barcelona

Anyone who is thinking of studying in Barcelona should know that most of the courses at the universities are taught in the Catalan language.

There are students, who spend months preparing themselves for Spanish only to discover that their course is spoken in Catalan, so you´d definitely want to check first. Some professors hold classes in Spanish if the group contains a lot of international students, but this does not happen so often. If agreed previously with the University, written assignments by international students may be submitted in Spanish.

Spanish Course in Barcelona

There are three major universities in Barcelona:

Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. This university is located on the other side of Tibidabo near Cerdanyola (reachable via underground from Plaça Catalunya). The contact name for exchange students in the “Oficina de Relaciones Internacionales“ is Montserrat Roca, for Socrates exchange schemes Xavier Biarnès and Mònica Leiva for Erasmus students.
